Estimation of Star-Shaped Distributions
Scatter plots of multivariate data sets motivate modeling of star-shaped distributions beyond elliptically contoured ones. We study properties of estimators for the density generator function, the star-generalized radius distribution and the density in a

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Probability Error Bounds for Approximation of Functions in Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Spaces
We find probability error bounds for approximations of functions f in a separable reproducing kernel Hilbert space H with reproducing kernel K on a base space X, firstly in terms of finite linear combinations of functions of type Kxi and then in terms of

In this paper we derive new uniform convergence estimates for the V-cycle MGM applied to symmetric positive definite Toeplitz block tridiagonal matrices, by also discussing few connections with previous results. More concretely, the contributions of this

This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

A Banach Principle for Semifinite von Neumann Algebras
Utilizing the notion of uniform equicontinuity for sequences of functions with the values in the space of measurable operators, we present a non-commutative version of the Banach Principle for $L^infty$.

Uniform limit theorems for wavelet density estimators
Let $p_n(y)=\sum_k\hat{\alpha}_k\phi(y-k)+\sum_{l=0}^{j_n-1}\sum_k\hat {\beta}_{lk}2^{l/2}\psi(2^ly-k)$ be the linear wavelet density estimator, where $\phi$, $\psi$ are a father and a mother wavelet (with compact support), $\hat{\alpha}_k$, $\hat{\beta ...

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...
