Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2014Controlled 222Rn+220Rn mixed atmospheres have been realised introducing calibrated sources in a stainless steel chamber. An electrostatic alpha monitor internal to the chamber has been used for an accurate discrimination of alpha peaks due to the products of the two isotopes.

Electrodeposition of actinides for alpha-spectrometry
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 1999The electrodeposition of the actinides U, Th, Pu, Am, and Cm on stainless steel disks was studied. A sodium hydrogen sulphate — sodium sulphate buffer 0.63M in total sulphate and a ratio sodium hydrogen sulphate to total sulphate ranging from 0.16 (pH 1.8) to 0.48 (pH 1.3) allows the quantitative electrodeposition of the given actinides.

Characterisation of nasal swab samples by alpha spectrometry
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2009A positive nasal swab taken at a radiation emergency, when properly collected and analysed, is a good indication of a potential inhalation intake.
