Code loops in dimension at most 8

open access: yes, 2016
Code loops are certain Moufang $2$-loops constructed from doubly even binary codes that play an important role in the construction of local subgroups of sporadic groups.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Designs from Local Random Quantum Circuits with SU(d) Symmetry

open access: yesPRX Quantum
The generation of k-designs (pseudorandom distributions that emulate the Haar measure up to k moments) with local quantum circuit ensembles is a problem of fundamental importance in quantum information and physics.

How well can we guess theoretical uncertainties?

open access: yes, 2013
The problem of estimating the effect of missing higher orders in perturbation theory is analyzed with emphasis in the application to Higgs production in gluon-gluon fusion.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Alternating group explicit method for the diffusion equation

open access: yesApplied Mathematical Modelling, 1985
An alternating group explicit method is presented for the finite difference solution of the diffusion equation. The method uses stable asymmetric approximations to the partial differential equation which, when coupled in groups of two adjacent points on the grid, result in implicit equations which can be easily converted to explicit form.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

A new compact alternating group explicit iteration method for the solution of nonlinear time-dependent viscous Burgers’ equation [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Analysis and Applications, 2015
Summary: We discuss a new single-sweep compact alternating group explicit method for solving the time-dependent viscous Burgers' equation both in Cartesian and polar coordinates. An error analysis for the new iterative method is discussed in detail. We compare the results of the proposed iterative method with the results of a corresponding double-sweep

Scl, sails and surgery

open access: yes, 2010
We establish a close connection between stable commutator length in free groups and the geometry of sails (roughly, the boundary of the convex hull of the set of integer lattice points) in integral polyhedral cones. This connection allows us to show that
