Aluminum Compounds Used as Adjuvants in Vaccines

Pharmaceutical Research, 1990
The structure of nine commercially manufactured aluminum-containing adjuvants was investigated by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron micrography, and energy dispersive spectrometry. Seven samples which were labeled as aluminum hydroxide were identified as boehmite, a crystalline aluminum oxyhydroxide [AlO(OH)]. However, the

Methylthiomethyl Compounds of Aluminum, Gallium, and Indium

Organometallics, 2002
The dimethyl(methylthiomethyl)metal compounds (Me2MCH2SMe)(2) (M=Al, Ga, In) have been prepared from LiCH2SMe and the respective dimethylmetal chlorides. Unlike the corresponding lithium compounds, the thiomethyl compounds with AlMe2 and GaMe2 groups are sublimable and well soluble in nonpolar solvents.

Adjuvant Properties of Aluminum and Calcium Compounds

1995
It is likely that aluminum compounds will continue to be used with human vaccines for many years as a result of their excellent track record of safety and adjuvanticity with a variety of antigens. For infections that can be prevented by induction of serum antibodies, aluminum adjuvants formulated under optimal conditions are the adjuvants of choice. It

Aluminum and Its Compounds

2000
Abstract A Chronic encephalopathy (progressive) A Axonal neuropathy (intracisternal) The natural abundance and widespread use of aluminum (Al) account for the metal’s ubiquitous presence in air, food, and water. Al is found in the body of apparently normal humans, although there is no known physiological function for

1,3-Diaryltriazenido compounds of aluminum

Inorganic Chemistry, 1993
Reaction of AlH( i Bu) 2 with 1 and 2 equiv of 1,3-diphenyltriazene, (Ph)NNN(H)(Ph), yields Al( i Bu) 2 [N(Ph)NN(Ph)] (1) Al( i Bu)[N(Ph)NN(Ph)] 2 (2), respectively. Compound 2 undergoes ligand exchange in solution to give an equimolar mixture of 1 and Al[N(Ph)NN(Ph)] 3 . The reaction of Al[ t Bu) 3 with (Ph)NNN(H)(Ph) gives Al( t Bu) 2 [N(Ph)NN(Ph)]

heats of formation of aluminum-cerium intermetallic compounds

Metallurgical Transactions A, 1991
The formation heats of the intermetallic compounds of aluminum and cerium were studied using a differential direct isoperibol calorimeter. The composition and equilibrium state of the samples were confirmed by metallographic and X-ray analyses. For the various compounds, the ΔHform (for the reaction in the solid state at 300 K) was determined as ...

Compounds of Phosphorus with Silicon and Aluminum

Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1966
AbstractThe formation and properties of silicon‐phosphorus and aluminum‐phosphorus compounds are described. Silylphosphines are decomposed solvolytically by H2O, C2H5OH, NH3, hydrogen halides, C2H5I, and boron halides at the SiP bond; decomposition may be preceded by formation of an addition compound.

Clinical evaluation of a samarium/aluminum compound filter

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1989
Rare earth compound filters, which offer reduced patient exposure during intraoral radiography, have not been clinically evaluated for their effect on diagnostic yield. This clinical study was conducted to compare the diagnostic yield of bitewing radiographs exposed with a conventional aluminum filter with matched bitewing radiographs exposed with a ...

Intercalation compounds of aluminum hydroxide

Journal of Structural Chemistry, 1999
Crystalline aluminum trihydroxides Al(OH)3 (gibbsite, baverite, and nordstrandite) can serve as layered intercalation matrices in which metal salts are arranged in a specific way. Small cations (lithium, magnesium, and transition metals) lie in the octahedral voids of aluminum hydroxide layers, and water molecules are located between the layers.

Neptunium-Aluminum Intermetallic Compounds

JOM, 1953
The intermetallic compounds NpAI2, NpAI3, and NpAI4 have been prepared, and examined by X-ray diffraction methods. The compounds are isostructural with the corresponding U-AI compounds. NpAI2 is face-centered cubic with a = 7.785A and has the MgCu2 structure. NpAI3 is simple cubic with a = 4.262A and has the AuCu3 structure.
