Changes in alveolar bone support induced by the Herbst appliance: a tomographic evaluation
Objective: This study evaluated alveolar bone loss around mandibular incisors, induced by the Herbst appliance. Methods: The sample consisted of 23 patients (11 men, 12 women; mean age of 15.76 ± 1.75 years), Class II, Division 1 malocclusion, treated

ABSTRACT Autosomal recessive HARS1‐related disorder (originally described as Usher syndrome type 3B) caused by a homozygous Y454S variant in the histidyl‐tRNA synthetase gene (HARS1) is characterized by progressive sensorineural hearing and vision loss and respiratory deterioration with risk for sudden death following febrile illnesses.

ABSTRACT Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC) is defined as the presence of joint contractures affecting at least two body regions at birth. Three different ERGIC1 variants have been reported in individuals with AMC. Here, we report on a 16‐year‐old male with a homozygous ERGIC1 c.250+1G>A variant that was classified as a variant of uncertain ...

North American Delphi Consensus Study on Sinonasal Malignancy Survivorship Care
ABSTRACT Background Survival for patients with sinonasal cancers has improved over the past decades, but there are no dedicated survivorship guidelines for this cohort. Objective To understand experts’ priorities and perspectives on key survivorship tenets (surveillance, second tumor screening, toxicity, and symptom management).

Factors affecting molar root and periodontal hard tissue changes after orthodontic anterior molar closure of missing tooth spaces retrospective explored based on cone-beam computed tomography three-dimensional reconstruction [PDF]
Objective To correlate the molar teeth and their periodontal conditions after orthodontic anterior removal of the molars to close the gap of missing teeth and to provide risk factor analysis and prognostic assessment for the treatment of such cases ...

Macrolide‐resistant Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MRMP) infected both juvenile and adult mice, with results compared to normal juvenile mice. The findings revealed comparable bacterial loads between juvenile and adult mice, yet juvenile mice exhibited more severe lung damage and elevated levels of inflammatory cytokines.

Sclerostin is essential for alveolar bone loss in occlusal hypofunction
Bone loss is caused by occlusal hypofunction and is a serious health concern. This is particularly true of tooth loss, which is common in the elderly. However, the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying bone loss have yet to be fully elucidated.

Natural Aging of Biomaterials in Ambient and Physiological Environments
Biomaterials used in biomedical applications can change their physical properties over time, even under ambient and physiological conditions. This review highlights key studies on the natural aging of materials ranging from soft hydrogels to metals and ceramics, emphasizing how time‐dependent changes influence function and performance.

Modified Titanium Dental Implants: The Current Progress of Soft‐Tissue Integration Methods
Dental implants are an established solution for tooth loss, yet achieving soft tissue integration (STI) around the transmucosal region remains a challenge. The natural tooth–gingiva interface is poorly replicated on titanium implants. This review explores surface modification strategies, ranging from surface chemistry and topography to biological ...
