Analyzing vibration effect on amber buoying up velocity [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
Industrial use of hydromechanical method and equipment made it possible to represent quantitative assessment of parameters for efficient amber extraction from amber-bearing deposits. Mined-out deposits with non-commercial reserves, being technogenic ones,

Protective Effect of Amber Extract on Human Dopaminergic Cells against 6-Hydroxydopamine-Induced Neurotoxicity

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most common progressive neurodegenerative disease, after Alzheimer’s disease. In our previous study, we found that amber—a fossilized plant resin—can protect cells from apoptosis by decreasing the generation of ...

Coordinated AMBER and MIDI observations of the Mira variable RR Aql

open access: yes, 2008
We have used near- and mid-infrared interferometry to investigate the pulsating atmosphere and the circumstellar environment of the Mira variable RR Aql.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Understanding the effect of MXene in a TMO/MXene hybrid catalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction

open access: yesnpj 2D Materials and Applications, 2023
Very recently, it has been reported that mixed transition metal oxide (TMO)/MXene catalysts show improved performance over TMO only catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, the reasoning behind this observation is unknown. In this work

AMBER DROPLETS IN THE SOUTHERN ALPS (NE ITALY): A LINK BETWEEN THEIR OCCURRENCES AND MAIN HUMID EPISODES IN THE TRIASSIC

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia, 2022
The Anisian amber from the “Voltzia beds” of the Recoaro area, produced by Voltzia recubariensis, represents the most ancient Triassic amber known so far.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
