Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Use of Budner's Intolerance of Ambiguity Measure for Entrepreneurial Research
The paper discusses the application of Budner's 16-item measure of intolerance of ambiguity in research with entrepreneurs. Results from two similar recent studies by Schere and Dollinger differ dramatically.

Portfolio inertia under ambiguity [PDF]
We consider individual's portfolio selection problems. Introducing the concept of ambiguity, we show the existence of portfolio inertia under the assumptions that decision maker's beliefs are captured by an inner measure, and that her preferences are ...

The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Ambiguity and uncertainty in Ellsberg and Shackle [PDF]
This paper argues that Ellsberg’s and Shackle’s frameworks for discussing the limits of the (subjective) probabilistic approach to decision theory are not as different as they may appear.

Orbital Geometry‐Governed Response of Pressure‐Tunable Quantum Defects in hBN
Defects in hBN act as ultrasensitive quantum manometers when the energy of the intradefect optical transitions is modified by lattice compression. The orbital geometry of the electron wave functions governs how electron hopping and Coulomb interactions react uniquely to the reduction of the van der Waals gap and in‐plane compression, leading to robust ...

Racial Ambiguity to Racialized Identity Race Relations in the Texas Borderlands
This paper focuses on the concept of racial ambiguity and the shifting “racial border,” a phrase used by historian James Leiker. The study relies on primary documents, from a forty-five year period, including Texas laws and statutes, regional newspapers ...
