Amino-acid Sequence of Thermolysin

Nature New Biology, 1972
The following three articles describe how chemical and X-ray analyses have been combined to elucidate the structure of thermolysin. This first article describes the determination of the amino-acid sequence of this metalloendopeptidase.

Similar amino acid sequences revisited

Trends in Biochemical Sciences, 1989
The rapid accumulation of protein sequences, many bearing unexpected resemblances to each other, is providing a new perspective on evolution.

Amino Acid Sequence

1991
Abstract Knowing the amino acid composition of a protein hydrolysate, even with high accuracy, is just like having a sackful of letters of the alphabet, all mixed up. Knowing the arrangement of these amino acids along a polypeptide chain—or, sometimes, several connected polypeptide chains —is another matter altogether: words and ...

AMINO-ACID SEQUENCES IDENTIFICATION

DYNA, 2018
Within signal processing, parameter estimation is necessary to obtain coefficients applicable to classification, optimization, prediction or identification algorithms. The latter, of interest in this work, refers to the reconstruction of a signal, corrected from the error generated between the desired and the identified signal.

Human Fibroblast Interferon: Amino Acid Analysis and Amino Terminal Amino Acid Sequence

Science, 1980
The purification of human fibroblast interferon has been simplified to a two-step procedure consisting of affinity chromatography on Blue Sepharose and sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. A preliminary amino acid composition and the sequence of the 13 amino-terminal residues of homogeneous interferon prepared by this method is ...

Amino acid sequence of dogfish trypsin

Biochemistry, 1975
The amino acid sequence of pancreatic trypsin from the spiny Pacific dogfish (Squalus acanthias) has been determined and compared with the sequences of bovine and porcine trypsin. Dogfish trypsin contains one less amino acid residue (222) than the other two enzymes. Two-thirds of the residues in corresponding positions in dogfish and bovine trypsin are

The amino acid sequence of cobrotoxin

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure, 1969
Abstract Reduced S -carboxymethylated cobrotoxin was digested with trypsin and chymotrypsin. Nine peptides were isolated from the tryptic digest by a combination of electrophoresis and chromatography on paper. The amino acid sequence in these peptides was determined by applying the Edman degradation and by using proteolytic enzymes, leucine ...

Amino-Acid Sequence in a Hypertensin

Nature, 1956
THE isolation and purification of a hypertensin peptide, resulting from the action of rabbit renin on ox serum, have been described recently by one of us. Its amino-acid composition was consistent with a decapeptide structure containing the following eight amino-acids: leucine (1), phenylalanine (1), tyrosine (1), proline (1), aspartic acid (1 ...

Amino acid sequence of Acanthamoeba actin

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1984
By amino acid sequence studies, only one form of cytoplasmic actin was detected in Acanthamoeba castellanii. Its amino acid sequence is very similar to the sequences of Dictyostelium and Physarum actins, from which Acanthamoeba actin differs in only nine and seven residues, respectively, including the deletion of the first residue.
