Amino-acid Sequence of Substance P

Nature New Biology, 1971
IN 1931 von Euler and Gaddum1, studying the tissue distribution of acetylcholine, found that brain and intestine contained a substance that stimulated contraction of the isolated rabbit jejunum, and caused transient hypotension when injected intravenously into anaesthetized rabbits.

Amino acid sequence of bovine angiogenin

Biochemistry, 1989
The amino acid sequence and disulfide bridges of bovine plasma derived angiogenin were determined by sequencer analysis of the intact protein and fragments derived by enzymatic and chemical digestion. Bovine angiogenin is a single-chain protein of 125 amino acids; it contains six cysteines and has a calculated molecular weight of 14,595. In contrast to

Amino acid sequence of Salmonella typhimurium branched-chain amino acid aminotransferase

Biochemistry, 1989
The complete amino acid sequence of the subunit of branched-chain amino acid aminotransferase (transaminase B, EC 2.6.1.42) of Salmonella typhimurium was determined. An Escherichia coli recombinant containing the ilvGEDAY gene cluster of Salmonella was used as the source of the hexameric enzyme.

Guinea pig acylphosphatase: The amino acid sequence

Journal of Protein Chemistry, 1988
We determined the primary structure of guinea pig skeletal muscle acylphosphatase, using the high degree of homology with several vertebrate acylphosphatases to obtain correct alignment of the complete series of tryptic peptides. Their sequences were obtained mainly by Edman degradation; FAB mass spectrometry was used to identify the acyl group ...

The amino terminal amino acid sequence of human angiotensinogen

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1981
Abstract The amino terminal amino acid sequence of purified human angiotensinogen has been determined. The first 25 residues with the exception of number 14 were identified. The sequence of the first ten amino acids is that of angiotensin I. The sequence surrounding the renin cleavage site in this protein is Leu- 10 Val- 11 Ile- 12 His- 13 .
