The amino acid sequence and configuration of tentoxin

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1974
Summary The full structure cyclo[L-leucyl-N-methyl- trans -dehydrophenylalanyl-glycyl-N-methyl-L-alanyl] (IV) is assigned to tentoxin, the chlorosis-inducing phytotoxin from Alternaria tenuis Nees., on the basis of 1 H nmr, mass spectrometric, and degradative data from tentoxin and its N,N-dimethyl, dihydro, and N,N-dimethyldihydro derivatives.

The amino acid sequence of porcine glicentin

Peptides, 1981
Glicentin or gut GLI-1 has previously been isolated from porcine small intestine. On the basis of the available chemical data, the molecule was thought to contain 100 amino acid residues. A redetermination of the amino acid composition of the molecule has shown it to contain 69 amino acid residues, and the full sequence has been established.

Compression of Amino Acid Sequences

2018
Amino acid sequences are known to be very hard to compress. In this paper, we propose a lossless compressor for efficient compression of amino acid sequences (AC). The compressor uses a cooperation between multiple context and substitutional tolerant context models.

Amino-acid Sequence of Substance P

Nature New Biology, 1971
IN 1931 von Euler and Gaddum1, studying the tissue distribution of acetylcholine, found that brain and intestine contained a substance that stimulated contraction of the isolated rabbit jejunum, and caused transient hypotension when injected intravenously into anaesthetized rabbits.

Amino acid sequence of Acanthamoeba actin

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1984
By amino acid sequence studies, only one form of cytoplasmic actin was detected in Acanthamoeba castellanii. Its amino acid sequence is very similar to the sequences of Dictyostelium and Physarum actins, from which Acanthamoeba actin differs in only nine and seven residues, respectively, including the deletion of the first residue.

Amino Acid Sequences of Proinsulins and Intermediates

Diabetes, 1972
Comparison of the amino acid sequences of human, porcine and bovine proinsulins reveals a high degree of variance within the respective connecting peptide segments. This is particularly reflected by species-specific guinea pig antisera which indicate that the proinsulin antigenic determinants are contained within the connecting peptides.

The Amino Acid Sequence of Equine Metallothioneins

1979
The determination of the amino acid sequences of metallothioneins has been undertaken with the aim of obtaining information on 1) the distribution of metal-liganding cysteinyl residues in the polypeptide chain, 2) the mode of metal-protein interaction, 3) the relationship between chemical structure and metal-ion selectivity, 4) the structural basis of ...
