Metabolism of Sulfur Amino Acids by Rumen Microorganisms
Abstract The production of methanethiol and ethanethiol from L -methionine, s -methyl- l -cysteine, ethionine, and s -ethyl- l -cysteine during in vitro fermentation by rumen microorganisms was determined by employing gas-liquid chromatography to analyze the head-space gas produced by the fermentations.

Impact of Wort Amino Acids on Beer Flavour: A Review
The process by which beer is brewed has not changed significantly since its discovery thousands of years ago. Grain is malted, dried, crushed and mixed with hot water to produce wort.

Sulfur Amino Acid Requirement for Lactation in the Rat.
SummaryA short-term lactation test has been used to study the effects of cystine supplementation for purified diets containing casein as sole protein source. Supplementation of 12, 18, and 24% casein diets with 0.5% L-cystine markedly improved lactation performance as judged by weaning weights of young and mother.

Turning Water Into a Tool: From Degradation Pathways to Functional Engineering in Halide Perovskites
Water exhibits a threshold‐dependent dual role in lead halide perovskites, acting either as a degradation trigger or as a powerful tool for defect passivation, recrystallization, and structural engineering. This review discusses how controlled water‐mediated interactions govern stability, dimensionality, and optoelectronic performance, providing ...

Chiral Porphyrin Monolayers on Ferromagnetic Thin Films: Ultrafast Spectroscopy of Hybrid Interfaces
Chiral porphyrin–oligopeptide monolayers covalently bound to Au‐capped Co/Ni multilayers form surface‐parallel J‐type aggregates and exhibit measurable singlet‐state transient absorption despite monolayer coverage. Femtosecond pump–probe spectroscopy reveals strong excited‐state quenching at the metal interface, yet no long‐lived charge‐transfer ...

Sulfur amino acid utilization by growing steers
Studies were conducted to quantify sulfur amino acid requirements of growing steers. In Exp. 1, six steers (160 kg) were used to determine the methionine requirement in the presence of excess L-Cys. Treatments were abomasal infusion of water only or water plus 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10g/d of L-Met.

Nanopatterned Dual‐Carbon‐Dot Photonic Films With Enhanced Light Outcoupling
Nanoimprinted dual‐carbon‐dot/PVA films combine composition‐tunable blue–green emission with grating‐mediated directional light outcoupling. Water‐processable B‐CD and G‐CD composites are patterned by drying‐assisted nanoimprinting, producing angle‐selective emission peaks that follow the first‐order diffraction condition and exhibit reference ...
