The transformations of thiols and their dimers in the redox-mediated thiol-disulfide exchange reaction

open access: yesChimica Techno Acta, 2023
A search for new approaches to sulfurous waste utilization is one of the urgent tasks of chemical technology. Thiol-disulfide exchange reaction (TDE) is one of the possible ways to involve technogenic wastes in organic synthesis.

o-Aminophenol in Experimental Tuberculosis [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1952
IN 1948 Okamoto1 reported that o-aminophenol showed a tuberculostatic effect both in vitro and in vivo (in guinea pigs). He also referred to favourable progress when this drug was used clinically in pulmonary tuberculosis. In the course of a study of the chemotherapy of experimental tuberculosis, we have included o-aminophenol in our tests.

QSAR Assessing the Efficiency of Antioxidants in the Termination of Radical-Chain Oxidation Processes of Organic Compounds

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Using the GUSAR 2013 program, the quantitative structure–antioxidant activity relationship has been studied for 74 phenols, aminophenols, aromatic amines and uracils having lgk7 = 0.01–6.65 (where k7 is the rate constant for the reaction of antioxidants ...

Biomimetic Polymerization of Tellurocysteine: Breaking the Natural Amino Acid Radioprotection Limitation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by natural amino acid polymer‐melanin systems, this study strategically incorporated tellurocysteine to develop advanced radiation‐shielding materials. This approach transformed the primary interaction mechanism between melanin‐based materials and incident photons from Compton scattering to the photoelectric effect. Tellurocysteine‐polymerized
