AbstractWe studied a baby born with physical features suggestive of the aminopterin syndrome, but without exposure of the mother to aminopterin during pregnancy.G‐banded chromosomes from peripheral blood lymphocytes had a normal 46,XX pattern. However, in 50 skin fibroblasts there was a normal female karyotype in 5 cells and 45 cells showed an ...

JAMA, 1962
To the Editor:— It was called to our attention ( JAMA 178 :46 [Oct. 21] 1961) that a misstatement had been made in a correction. In this notation Dr. Kushner commented on an article, Treatment of Reticulosis ( JAMA 175 :84 [Jan. 14] 1961), wherein the dosage of aminopterin was incorrectly stated. We concur that this dosage is incorrect. However, Dr.

EFFECT OF "AMINOPTERIN" ON EPITHELIAL TISSUES
Archives of Dermatology, 1951The folic acid antagonist, 4-aminopteroyl glutamic acid ("aminopterin"), is a potent inhibitor of growth and of connective tissue proliferation. The present study indicates that the suppressive effects of "aminopterin" on epithelial structures are more striking than on connective tissue, as revealed by observation of interference with wound healing and

Maternal Aminopterin Ingestion-Reply
Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1973The correspondents are correct in doubting my doubts about aminopterin and thalidomide effects on the brain. Aminopterincancause malformations of the brain in human embryos as shown by Thiersch (Acta Endocrinol, suppl 28:37, 1956) and thalidomide has been held responsible for damage to the central nervous system (Horstmann W,Z Kinderheilkd96:291, 1966)
