The aminopyrine breath test. [PDF]
The metabolic basis and clinical application of the aminopyrine breath test (ABT) as a measure of liver function is reviewed in this article. Several papers have been published in the 20 years that have elapsed since the test was validated in man by Hepner and Vesell. Nevertheless, even if the aminopyrine breath test has been shown to be a non-invasive,

Aminopyrine breath test in alcoholic cirrhosis [PDF]
Aminopyrine breath test was performed in 91 consecutive alcoholic cirrhotic patients in order to evaluate its clinical value in this group of patients. As compared with routine liver biochemical tests, aminopyrine breath test was found to be altered most frequently (93.5% of cases). A one-year follow-up was obtained in 69 patients.

Enhancement effects of barbital on the teratogenicity of aminopyrine
Toxicology, 1984Aminopyrine and its compound with barbital have been used in humans as analgesics and antipyretics. A compound, pyrabital (2 molecules of aminopyrine and 1 molecule of barbital) given daily on Days 9, 10 and 11 of gestation produced significant yields of fetal deaths and malformations in ICR/Jcl mice.

Aminopyrine breath test improves long-term prognostic evaluation in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis in Child classes A and B [PDF]
In a 4-year survival study, we evaluated the prognostic value of the aminopyrine breath test and the Child-Turcotte-Pugh score in 190 alcoholic patients. Using aminopyrine breath test results, the patients were stratified into group 1 (aminopyrine breath

1 H-NMR study of the interaction of aminopyrine with purified rat liver microsomal cytochrome P-450 [PDF]
Longitudinal relaxation (T1) measurements for all lines (N(CH3)2, N(CH3), (C(CH3), phenyl) in the aminopyrine 1H-NMR spectrum were used to study the interaction of aminopyrine with purified microsomal cytochrome P-450 from livers of phenobarbital-treated

The anabolic influence of aminopyrine
Metabolism, 1964Abstract Aminopyrine was anabolic when administered to 5 normal, young male subjects in usual therapeutic dosages, as indicated by diminished urinary nitrogen, creatine and inorganic phosphorus. The anabolic effect with the dosages of aminopyrine employed in this study was slightly less than but comparable in magnitude to that resulting from the ...

Bacterial degradation of aminopyrine
Xenobiotica, 19811. Four strains of bacteria growing with aminopyrine as sole source of carbon were isolated from soil and were identified as strains of Phenylobacterium immobilis. 2. Strain M13 and strain E, the type species of Phenylobacterium immobilis (DSM 1986), which had been isolated by enrichment with chloridazon (5-amino-4-chloro-2-phenyl-2H-pyridazin-3-one ...
