Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

RIPK3 dampens mitochondrial bioenergetics and lipid droplet dynamics in metabolic liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
RIPK3 dampens mitochondrial bioenergetics and lipid droplet dynamics in metabolic liver disease. Abstract Background and Aims Receptor‐interacting protein kinase 3 (RIPK3) mediates NAFLD progression, but its metabolic function is unclear. Here, we aimed to investigate the role of RIPK3 in modulating mitochondria function, coupled with lipid droplet (LD)

Time‐Controlled Refrigerated Stem Cell Therapy Mitigates Scleroderma Fibrosis via Modulation of Mitochondrial Autophagy and Gut Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study established an RT‐MSCs‐based therapeutic approach for scleroderma in mice. RT‐MSCs attenuated fibrosis by regulating mitochondrial autophagy and restored gut microbiota homeostasis. Metabolomic analyses confirmed recovery of key metabolites, and RT‐MSCs demonstrated favorable lesion targeting and safety profiles.

Examining the implications of the anti-money laundering and countering financing of Terrorism Act 2009 on New Zealand accounting firms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Money laundering is the act of introducing illicitly gained funds into the economy to assist in concealing their origin. On October 1 2018, it became mandatory for most New Zealand accounting firms to comply with the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering ...

Constitutive cytoplasmic localization of p21Waf1/Cip1 affects the apoptotic process in monocytic leukaemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In the present study, we analysed the expression and localization of p21Waf1/Cip1 in normal and malignant haematopoietic cells. We demonstrate that in normal monocytic cells, protein kinase C (PKC)-induced p21 gene activation, which is nuclear factor-κB (

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Preferential orientation of tracer spheroids in turbulent channel flow

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2019
: Axis-symmetric spheroids, such as rod-like and disk-like particles, have been found to orient preferentially in near-wall turbulence by both experiment and numerical simulation.

NUP85 Mediates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress through the USP47/ASK1 Signaling Pathway to Regulate the Progression of Liver Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the present study, we have demonstrated that the NUP85‐USP47‐ASK1 signaling pathway may have regulated the progression of liver fibrosis through modulating ERS. Additionally, we have developed a CREKA‐coupled liposome to target delivery of MV, a pharmacological inhibitor of NUP85, to activated HSCs, thereby attenuating liver fibrosis. ABSTRACT Liver

Angular Momentum Loss Mechanisms in Cataclysmic Variables below the Period Gap

open access: yes, 2011
Mass transfer in cataclysmic variables (CVs) is usually considered to be caused by angular momentum loss (AML) driven by magnetic braking and gravitational radiation (GR) above the period gap, and solely by GR below the period gap.

AML‐Targeted Metal‐Polyphenol Nanoplatform Induces Ferroptosis‐ICD Cascade for Antitumor Immunity Boosting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the synthesis protocol for Fe‐SH@Fn, an AML‐targeted nanoplatform engineered to co‐deliver shikonin (SH) and Fe3+, synergistically boosting antitumor immunity via ferroptosis induction and immunogenic cell death (ICD). ABSTRACT Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains a therapeutic challenge due to its low immunogenicity and ...
