Adsorption/desorption and electrically controlled flipping of ammonia molecules on graphene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we evaluate of the adsorption/ desorption of ammonia molecules on a graphene surface by studying the Fermi level shift. Based on a physically plausible model, the adsorption and desorption rates of ammonia molecules on graphene have been extracted from the measured Fermi level shift as a function of exposure time.

Ammonia for power

open access: yesProgress in Energy and Combustion Science, 2018
A potential enabler of a low carbon economy is the energy vector hydrogen. However, issues associated with hydrogen storage and distribution are currently a barrier for its implementation. Hence, other indirect storage media such as ammonia and methanol are currently being considered.

Hazard Identification of Ammonia FSS for Ammonia Fuelled Ammonia Carrier

open access: yes한국해양공학회지
Ammonia is a zero-carbon fuel that has attracted considerable interest. The compound has high volumetric energy density and is easy to store and transport.

Ammonia Imaging of the Disks in the NGC 1333 IRAS 4A Protobinary System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The NGC 1333 IRAS 4A protobinary was observed in the ammonia (2, 2) and (3, 3) lines and in the 1.3 cm continuum with a high resolution (about 1.0 arcsec). The ammonia maps show two compact sources, one for each protostar, and they are probably protostellar accretion disks.

Ammonia---not the culprit [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Disease in Childhood, 2001
Editor,—We were interested to read the article by Kerr et al on the SIDS problem. With regard to the interesting results we would like to point out some related findings. As pointed out by Kerr …

STM/STS Study of the Density of States and Contrast Behavior at the Boundary between (7 × 7)N and (8 × 8) Structures in the SiN/Si(111) System

open access: yesCrystals, 2022
The origin of the contrast appearing in STM images at the boundary between diverse ordered structures is studied using the example of two structures, (7 × 7)N and (8 × 8), formed in the system of a two-dimensional silicon nitride layer on the Si(111 ...

Neurotoxicity of Ammonia [PDF]

open access: yesNeurochemical Research, 2016
Abnormal liver function has dramatic effects on brain functions. Hyperammonemia interferes profoundly with brain metabolism, astrocyte volume regulation, and in particular mitochondrial functions. Gene expression in the brain and excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmission circuits are also affected. Experiments with a number of pertinent animal models

Effect of Different Fertilizations on the Plant-Available Nitrogen in Soil Profile (0–100 cm): A Study on Chinese Cabbage

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
The aim of this study is to analyze the variations in the plant-available nitrogen (PAN) concentrations in the soil profile. Different fertilizers were applied for Chinese cabbage plantation (CCP) in the experimental fields of the Shunyi region.

One-dimensionally confined ammonia molecules: A theoretical study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Liquids, Volume 387, 1 October 2023, 122633, 2023
We examine a single-file chain of ammonia molecules in a carbon nanotube. To this end, we use i) molecular dynamics simulations (combined with the charges for ammonia nitrogen and hydrogen obtained from quantum chemistry) and ii) lattice-model calculations [M.~Druchok {\it et al.}, J. Chem. Phys. {\bf 158}, 104304 (2023)].
