Oxides of nitrogen and ammonia in the atmosphere
Journal of Geophysical Research, 1963Nitrogen oxides and ammonia play an important role among the atmospheric trace gases. From the eight oxides of nitrogen known, only N/sub 2/O, NO/sub 2/, and, under certain conditions, NO have been detected in the atmosphere. Distribution, concentration, and possible sources and sinks of these gases are discussed.
