Amoebicidal and fungicidal activities of new quinazolones.
Arzneimittel-Forschung, 1982Eleven quinazolones were synthesized by condensing 2-phenylanthranil with a suitable peptide in pyridine. The compounds synthesized were characterised by their sharp melting points, elemental analysis and IR spectra. The newly synthesized compounds were tested for their amoebicidal and fungicidal activities.

Amoebicidal effect of essential oils in vitro.
Journal de toxicologie clinique et experimentale, 1991The toxic effect of 84 essential oils was tested at different concentrations on Entamoeba histolytica. 15 of them were the most efficient. 5 of the latter were detailed to give the percentages of their components. Some families of plants have shown an homogeneity in the toxicity of their essential oils, while others, to the contrary, have presented ...

Amoebicidal compounds from medicinal plants.
Parassitologia, 1996A series of the natural constituents with amoebicidal activity isolated from several medicinal plants is shown. A list of the medicinal plants potentially active as amoebicide and/or against dysentery also is demonstrated. The present data grouping of the natural compounds and medicinal plants can be an important source of information for the selection
