Phylogenetic position of Multicilia marina and the evolution of Amoebozoa
Recent molecular phylogenetic studies have led to the erection of the phylum Amoebozoa, uniting naked and testate lobose amoebae, the mycetozoan slime moulds and amitochondriate amoeboid protists (Archamoebae). Molecular data together with ultrastructural evidence have suggested a close relationship between Mycetozoa and Archamoebae, classified ...

Additions to the myxobiota of the Åland Islands
Six myxomycete species new to the Åland Islands are presented: Comatricha elegans, Cribraria intricata, Didymium minus, Hemitrichia clavata, Licea variabilis and Trichia favoginea. The record of Cribraria intricata is the third in Finland. Specimens were

On the morphology, biometry and biogeography of Lamtopyxis callistoma (Amoebozoa: Arcellinida) [PDF]
The ultra-structure of the shell and the morphometric variability of soil inhabiting testate amoeba Lamtopyxis callistoma from Madagascar were studied by using light- and scanning electron microscopy. The biometrical characteristic of the species was made on the basis of 75 specimens measured.

Cell rupture in Arcellinida through the lens of evolution
The majority of predatory protists are size-limited. Arcellinida (Amoebozoa) exhibit the remarkable ability to prey upon larger rganisms.

Multi-color fluorescence live-cell imaging in Dictyostelium discoideum
The cellular slime mold Dictyostelium discoideum, a member of the Amoebozoa, has been extensively studied in cell and developmental biology. D. discoideum is unique in that they are genetically tractable, with a wealth of data accumulated over half a ...
