Development of microsatellite markers by transcriptome sequencing in two species of Amorphophallus (Araceae) [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2013
Abstract Background Amorphophallus is a genus of perennial plants widely distributed in the tropics or subtropics of West Africa and South Asia. Its corms contain a high level of water-soluble glucomannan; therefore, it has long been used as a medicinal herb and food source.

Animating blossom: Time‐lapse to encourage plant awareness in the YouTube era

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Time‐lapse videos can effectively capture key traits of flower blossoms, such as color, 3D structure, and temporal changes, making them valuable complements to herbarium specimens and other botanical collections. Despite the abundance of such videos on YouTube, most provide no ecological and botanical insights.

Endemic Amorphophallus (Araceae) from Madagascar: a revised key, a new species and molecular phylogeny [PDF]

open access: yesBotanical Studies, 2014
Since the revision of Amorphophallus of Madagascar (Bot Jahrb Syst 121(1):1-17, 1999) several additional new species have been described. The recent discovery of another new species promted the preparation of a revised key as well as the description of the new species.

Enterobacter Species: Opportunistic Human and Plant Pathogens With Plant‐Beneficial Traits

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 3, March 2026.
The pathogen profile on Enterobacter species synthesises current knowledge on host range, disease symptoms, plant‐beneficial traits and compares genomic features within the genus. ABSTRACT Enterobacter species occur across diverse habitats and are best known for causing opportunistic and nosocomial infections in humans.

Unexpected Occurrence of Cladosporium spp. on the Inner Surface of the Spathe of the Titan Arum, Amorphophallus titanum

open access: yesActa Mycologica, 2021
The air-borne distributed genus Cladosporium Link is globally one of the most common fungal genera. By sequencing the barcode marker ITS, here, we document two taxa belonging to this genus – C. cf.

Caecal bacterial composition of broiler chickens affected by porang glucomannan

open access: yesJournal of the Indonesian Tropical Animal Agriculture, 2021
Glucomannan is consisted of D-glucose and D-mannose with β-1.4 linkages. Poultry had no enzyme to digest β linkage so that porang (Amorphophallus onchophyllus) glucomannan could be a prebiotic candidate.

Floral Temperatures of the Southern‐Most Flowering Amorphophallus titanum and Seedling Growth Following Self‐Pollination

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Botany, Volume 64, Issue 1, March 2026.
Amorphophallus titanum (Becc.) Becc. (Araceae) is native to the rainforests of Sumatra, and famously produces a single, massive, thermogenic, and highly odoriferous inflorescence. Despite having both male and female flowers in close proximity, A. titanum does not readily self‐pollinate as it is strictly dichogamous, with female flowers receptive on the

Suweg Flour (Amorphophallus Campanulatus) Potential Reducing TNF-α Levels in Model Diabetic Rats

open access: yesMutiara Medika, 2020
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease and it is called as a silent killer because this disease is unrecognized by the diabetics. However, when it is already known the complication is occurred. It is recognized by the increase of blood glucose level
