Tuning Metamaterials by using Amorphous Magnetic Microwires [PDF]
AbstractIn this work, we demonstrate theoretically and experimentally the possibility of tuning the electromagnetic properties of metamaterials with magnetic fields by incorporating amorphous magnetic microwires. The large permeability of these wires at microwave frequencies allows tuning the resonance of the metamaterial by using magnetic fields of ...

Fast Magnetization Switching in Amorphous Microwires
We studied the magnetization switching in magnetically bistable amorphous ferromagnetic microwires. We observed quite fast domain wall propagation along the microwires and a correlation between the magnetoelastic anisotropy, distribution of the local nucleation eld along the length of microwire and the domain wall dynamics.

Mechanical Stress Dependence of the Switching Field in Amorphous Microwires
Glass-coated magnetic microwires belong to a unique rank among materials that have high potential to be used in new technologies. We have studied the possibility to employ amorphous bistable microwires as a sensor for bending of carbon fiber composite. The measurement of switching time instead of switching field drastically increases the sensitivity of

Giant magnetoimpedance effect at GHz frequencies in amorphous microwires [PDF]
Studies of magnetic properties and GMI effect of amorphous Co-Fe rich microwires reveal that they present GMI effect at GHz frequencies. Magnetic field dependences of GMI effect are affected by the post-processing conditions.
