The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Efficient binary phase quantizer based on phase sensitive four wave mixing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We experimentally demonstrate an efficient binary phase quantizer operating at low pump powers. Phase-sensitive operation is obtained by polarization mixing the phase-locked signal/idler pair in a degenerate dual-pump vector parametric ...

Enhancing Signal Purity in Josephson Structure Measurements

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research
Superconducting Josephson structures play a significant role in quantum‐state engineering. Achieving high‐fidelity quantum state measurements in superconducting Josephson structures requires ultra‐low noise environments and robust signal purification ...

SOLID-STATE COMPONENTS AND DEVICES OF TERAHERTZ ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY IN UKRAINE [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2018
Subject and purpose. One of the main problems arising in the implementation of the terahertz range is associated with the need to provide the advanced equipment developed in this frequency band with effective electronic components.

Amplifiers for the Moran Process [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the ACM, 2017
The Moran process, as studied by Lieberman, Hauert, and Nowak, is a randomised algorithm modelling the spread of genetic mutations in populations. The algorithm runs on an underlying graph where individuals correspond to vertices. Initially, one vertex (chosen uniformly at random) possesses a mutation, with fitness r

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Slew Rate and Step Response of the Noninverting Structure with an Operational Amplifier

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2004
When a large-step input voltage is applied to an operational amplifier (OP AMP) input, the output waveform reises with a finite slope called the slex rate which is due to an amplifier input stage current limiting (Im) and because of a compensating ...

Design and Simulation of A New Proposed Single-Slope Integrating Analog-to- Digital Converter System Based on Non-Linear Amplifiers [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2010
In this paper, a unipolar single-slope integrating analog-to-digitalconverter(ADC) is discussed, designed, and simulated, whereas, its conversiontime is less than that of the dual-slope integrating ADC.The proposed systemconsists of logarithmic amplifier,
