Structural analysis of the NifL‐NifA complex reveals the molecular basis of anti‐activation of nitrogen fixation gene expression in Azotobacter vinelandii

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Using cryo‐EM combined with biochemical and genetic approaches, we mapped the interaction surface between NifL and NifA to gain insights into the regulation of nitrogen fixation genes in A. vinelandii. Our findings suggest that NifL, a homolog of histidine kinases lacking phosphorylation activity, evolved to act as a steric block of NifA activity ...

Recent Progress in Double Filtration Plasmapheresis

open access: yesHemodialysis International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Double‐filtration plasmapheresis is an advanced extracorporeal blood purification technique that selectively removes pathogenic macromolecules based on molecular weight. Unlike conventional plasma exchange, double‐filtration plasmapheresis uses a two‐step filtration process to retain beneficial plasma components such as albumin, while ...

Switching PD‐1 to BRAF + MEK inhibition improves recurrence‐free survival in patients receiving a second course of adjuvant melanoma therapy

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
66 patients from 22 centers received adjuvant treatment after relapse under or after previous adjuvant therapy with BRAF + MEK or PD‐1. Data highlight a significant benefit when switching from PD‐1 to BRAF + MEK adjuvant therapy compared to a switch from BRAF + MEK to PD‐1 adjuvant regimens.
