Solution Properties of Polysaccharides from Anacardium occidentale [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The viscosities of fractions of polysaccharide obtained from Anacardium occidentale dissolved in aqueous solutions were measured. Investigation by potentiometric titration and determination of common metal ion contents in the gum indicated that the ...

Attractiveness of host plant volatile extracts to the Asian citrus psyllid, diaphorina citri, is reduced by terpenoids from the non-host cashew [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Diaphorina citri is a vector of the bacterial causative agent of Huanglongbing (HLB = Citrus greening), a severe disease affecting citrus crops. As there is no known control for HLB, manipulating insect behaviour through deployment of semiochemicals ...

Integrated Processing of Dragon Fruit and Cashew Apple Juice for High‐Quality Fruit Wine: A Biotechnological Approach

open access: yesJournal of Food Biochemistry, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Fruit wine production is a promising strategy for enhancing the value of tropical fruits in Vietnam. This study developed a fermented beverage from red‐fleshed dragon fruit (Hylocereus costaricensis) and cashew apple (Anacardium occidentale), investigating the effects of hydrolysis and fermentation conditions on product quality.

Influence of Post‐Harvest Treatments on Antioxidant Potential and Metabolomics Profile of Coffee Beans

open access: yesFuture Postharvest and Food, Volume 2, Issue 4, Page 458-473, December 2025.
(1) The secondary metabolite profile of coffee beans was determined. (2) Processing affects not only the metabolite profile but also the volatile compound content. (3) Caffeine was the most abundant metabolite in all samples. (4) The fermentation‐roasting treatment improved the metabolite profile, whereas roasting, fermentation and soaking followed by ...

Biochar as a Strategy to Mitigate Greenhouse Gases in Degraded Drylands of the Brazilian Semiarid Region: Carbon Stocks and CO2 Fluxes

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, Volume 188, Issue 6, Page 1014-1026, December 2025.
This study evaluated the effects of pyrolytic biochars derived from co‐pyrolyzed sewage sludge and cashew residues on total organic carbon (TOC) recovery and CO2 emissions in degraded soils under greenhouse conditions. Biochar applications (5 to 40 Mg ha−1) enhanced soil carbon stocks and variably influenced CO2 fluxes over time.

ß-Lactamase Inhibitors from Anacardium occidentale

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2002
The antimicrobial activity of cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) and anacardic acids isolated from nuts of Anacardium occidentale were tested against several strains responsible of cutaneous infection or olfactory disagreement. CNSL exhibited minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) against Propionibacterium acnes (1.56 µg/mL), Corynebacterium xerosis (6.25
