A retrospective analysis of bacterial pathogens in wounds in an equine hospital (2017–2022)

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, Volume 38, Issue 11, Page e910-e918, November 2026.
Summary Background Bacterial infections are a major cause of morbidity in horses, particularly in soft tissue wounds (STW) and surgical site infections (SSI). Rising antimicrobial resistance poses challenges for timely treatment. Knowledge of common pathogens and their resistance patterns is therefore essential.

Antimicrobial Resistance in Periodontal Disease: Rethinking Adjunctive Therapy in the Metagenomics Era, the Pressing Need for Precision Treatment and Periodontal Resistome Mapping

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 21, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Systemic antibiotics are effective when used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of periodontitis; however, their use must be balanced against antimicrobial resistance, which is a major threat to global public health. This review provides an expert synthesis of the literature and a field‐level overview of antimicrobial resistance in ...

Microbial Strategies for the Degradation of Spent Lubricating Oil: A Comparative Study of Isolate Bacterium and Consortium Cultures

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, Volume 40, Issue 4, Page 717-727, November 2026.
This show the biodegradation of spent lubricating oil by Bacillus sp. and a marine bacterial consortium. The consortium showed higher growth, biosurfactant production and oil removal efficiency than the isolated strain, highlighting its potential for bioremediation ABSTRACT Spent automotive lubricating oil contains complex hydrocarbons and heavy metals,

From Dysbiosis to Disease: How Vaginal Microbiota Shape Group B Streptococcus Pathogenesis

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 20, 28 October 2026.
Lactobacillus crispatus plays a critical role in the vaginal microbiome. Limiting glucose shifts metabolism toward HMO consumption and amino acid metabolism. These actions enable alkali production and competition. Homeostasis, characterized by dense Lactobacilli colonization and suppression of pathogens, provides resistance to dysbiosis.
