Fuel Alcohol Production by Zymomonas Anaerobia: Kinetics

Acta Biotechnologica, 1984
AbstractProcess kinetics of a strain of Zymomonas anaerobia, which recently was shown to posses a high potential for ethanol production, are described applying the formal macroapproachThe effect of ethanol inhibition on microbial growth, substrate utilization and alcohol production was investigated in detail.

Construction of a shuttle vector betweenEscherichia coli andZymomonas anaerobia

Biotechnology Letters, 1987
A 1.7-kb cryptic plasmid was isolated fromZymomonas anaerobia and used to construct a shuttle vector inserting useful parts of pUC9, pBR322, and pRK2501.Escherichia coli was employed to clone the new plasmid designated pSR12. The 7.7-kb plasmid pSR12 reisolated from the host cells could transform competent cells ofZ.anaerobia at 2×10−7 frequency.

Estudios de sensibilidad en bacterias anaerobias

Enfermedades Infecciosas y Microbiología Clínica, 2014
The anaerobic bacteria resistance to antibiotics is increasing, and even has appeared against the most active of those, like metronidazol and carbapenems. This fact forces to make and periodical sensibility tests -at least in the most aggressive and virulent species, in cases that they are isolated from life locations and in the absence of therapeutic ...

Glicolisi anaerobia del pancreas di cavia

Experientia, 1960
The enzymes of anaerobic glycolysis are present in the granules of secretion and in the mitochondria of pancreas of guinea pig. On the otherhand, it has not been possible to demonstrate their presence in the soluble phase of the cell. Simultaneous addition of ATP and DPN causes an increase of this activity in both fractions; separate addition of these ...

Fuel alcohol biosynthesis by Zymomonas anaerobia: Optimization studies

Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1982
AbstractThe optimum operating conditions for growth and ethanol production of Zymomonas anaerobia ATCC 29501 were established. The optimum pH range and temperature were found to be 5.0–6.0 and 35°C, respectively. Based on the results obtained from the temperature optimization study, an Arrhenius‐type temperature relationship for the specific growth ...
