Synthesis of Analogue Circuits [PDF]
In analogue circuit designs, an initial circuit topology is usually chosen with a set of parameters from the designer's experience. A sequence of simulation and redesign then follows to produce a circuit with acceptable performance. This procedure is tedious, repetitive and time consuming.

INTEGRATED CIRCUITS (ICs) are simply circuits whose components are formed simultaneously on a single piece of semiconducting material. Instead of wiring together the discrete components of a circuit — such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes and transistors — the IC designer arranges for them to be produced and electrically interconnected as a ...

Analogue electronic circuit diagnosis based on ANNs
Microelectronics Reliability, 2006Feed-forward artificial neural networks (ANNs) have been applied to the diagnosis of nonlinear dynamic analogue electronic circuits. Using the simulation-before-test (SBT) approach, a fault dictionary was first created containing responses observed at all inputs and outputs of the circuit. The ANN was considered as an approximation algorithm to capture

ESD for Analogue Circuit Design
2003Designing for Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) robustness is a critical requirement for Integrated Circuits (ICs) since ESD voltages as low as the Gate Oxide breakdown can damage an IC. This is especially true for the newer lower Geometry Processes where the Gate Oxide breakdowns are reducing all the time. ESD Protection for Analogue or mixed signal parts

An approach to the specification driven testing of analogue circuits
Proceedings of 8th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference on Industrial Applications in Power Systems, Computer Science and Telecommunications (MELECON 96), 2002A fast method to test analogue circuits, featuring low testing cost is proposed here. The method is based on the properties of a set of parameters, /spl alpha//sub i/, easily measured by sampling in a few time points the circuit response to a rectangular pulse.

Integrated circuits for analogue systems
Microelectronics Reliability, 1973Because of the need for a large market and the initial problems with technically complex circuits, integrated circuits developed later for analogue than for digital systems. There are now two reasonably distinct groups of analogue circuits, namely those for professional use and those for incorporation in consumer equipment. In the former category ...

Analogue Current Mode Circuits
International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 1989Circuits designed to use current as the active parameter can often outperform by a significant margin the more traditional voltage mode formulations. Many wideband circuit functions and new design opportunities are available by using current mirrors and current conveyors as basic building blocks.

Analogue circuits of a learning spiking neuron model
Proceedings of the IEEE-INNS-ENNS International Joint Conference on Neural Networks. IJCNN 2000. Neural Computing: New Challenges and Perspectives for the New Millennium, 2000Biological neurons communicate via sequences of calibrated pulses or spikes. The behaviour of spiking neurons is the following: input spikes from pre-synaptic neurons are weighted and summed up yielding a value called membrane potential. The membrane potential is time dependent and decays when no spikes are received by the neuron.

Reliability of analogue circuits [PDF]
The reliability of CMOS circuits has worsened due to technology scaling. From the review of previous work on reliability study for CMOS circuits, it has been found that both digital and analogue circuits were susceptible to single event effects. Single event effects although causing non-permanent errors have already been identified to have caused ...

An analogue multilayer perceptron circuit with on-chip training
ISCAS'99. Proceedings of the 1999 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems VLSI (Cat. No.99CH36349), 2003This paper reports on the design of a compact CMOS analogue VLSI multilayer perceptron (MLP) with a novel on-chip control circuit that implements the weight perturbation learning rule. A demonstrator chip has been fabricated and tested to establish the correctness of the circuits.
