ML Workflows for Screening Degradation‐Relevant Properties of Forever Chemicals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The environmental persistence of per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) necessitates efficient remediation strategies. This study presents physics‐informed machine learning workflows that accurately predict critical degradation properties, including bond dissociation energies and polarizability.

Triple‐Mode Ferroelectric Thin‐Film Transistor for Hybrid Electrical–Optical Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A triple‐mode ferroelectric thin‐film transistor is developed by integrating Si3N4/HZO/IGZO layers to realize three independent memory modes: electric long‐term, electric short‐term, and optical short‐term. This single‐device architecture functions as both a reservoir and readout layer, achieving 92.43% MNIST accuracy. It offers a fully hardware‐based,

The Effects of Data Imputation on Covariance and Inverse Covariance Matrix Estimation

open access: yesIEEE Access
Various data analysis techniques and procedures (correlation heatmap, linear discriminant analysis, quadratic discriminant analysis) rely on the estimation of the covariance matrix or its inverse (the precision matrix).

Engineering Neuronal Network Connectivity Through Precise and Scalable Electrical Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a scalable all‐electrical method for precise neuronal‐circuit reconfiguration based on high‐density microelectrode arrays. By employing biologically inspired plasticity rules, targeted connectivity changes were successfully induced and quantified across diverse neuronal preparations.

DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM Analyses Implicate the Critical Role of RNA Structural Dynamics in Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus Pathogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNA structural profiling of Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus by DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM analyses uncover that viral genome‐wide RSS is highly complicated and heterogeneous, with alternative RSSs widely distributed across the genome. Notably, the viral 3’ tRNA‐like structure adopts alternative conformations in vivo.

Imputing Covariance for Meta-Analysis in the Presence of Interaction

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Detecting interactions is a critical aspect of medical research. When interactions are present, it is essential to calculate confidence intervals for both the main effect and the interaction effect.

The Kullback–Leibler Divergence and the Convergence Rate of Fast Covariance Matrix Estimators in Galaxy Clustering Analysis

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a method to quantify the convergence rate of the fast estimators of the covariance matrices in the large-scale structure analysis. Our method is based on the Kullback–Leibler (KL) divergence, which describes the relative entropy of two ...

Intramolecular Interactions between Folded and Disordered Regions Shape Ubiquilin Structure and Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ubiquilin (UBQLN), like many other human proteins, contains both well‐folded and disordered regions. Here, we show that intramolecular interactions between disordered regions and folded domains modulate between open and closed topologies of UBQLN proteins, altering their structure and function.
