In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Representability theorem in derived analytic geometry
International audienceWe prove the representability theorem in derived analytic geometry. The theorem asserts that an analytic moduli functor is a derived analytic stack if and only if it is compatible with Postnikov towers, has a global analytic ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The relation between rigid-analytic and algebraic deformation parameters for Artin-Schreier-Mumford curves [PDF]
We consider three examples of families of curves over a non-archimedean valued field which admit a non-trivial group action. These equivariant deformation spaces can be described by algebraic parameters (in the equation of the curve), or by rigid ...

An analytic solution of full-sky spherical geometry for satellite relative motions
Herein, an exact and efficient analytic solution for an unperturbed satellite relative motion was developed using a direct geometrical approach. The derivation of the relative motion geometrically interpreted the projected Keplerian orbits of the ...

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Polarization-Blind Image Dehazing Algorithm Based on Joint Polarization Model in Turbid Media
To address the issue of reduced image contrast and visibility caused by turbid media, such as dense fog, this paper proposes a novel polarization-based single-image dehazing model.

Localized brane-world black hole analytically connected to an AdS5 boundary
We construct from first principles the geometry of an analytic, exponentially localized five-dimensional brane-world black hole. The black-hole singularity lies entirely on the 3-brane, while the event horizon is shown to have a pancake shape.
