Analytic Geometry and Singularities of Mechanisms
Summary: We analyze the geometrical structure of the set \(M\) of configurations of a mechanism. Using Lie groups language and without any hypothesis of regularity, one can attach to this set a structure of an analytic variety. We then compute the tangent cone at each point of this set without introducing any coordinates, and we describe the structure ...

Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

The Soft Engine for Economic Growth in a Long-Time:The Economic Development Power, Conversion and Conservation for economic Energy [PDF]
Based on the theories of Development Power([18]-[20]) and Partial Distribution([21]-[24]), and combining with the actual economic development, this paper discusses the main ways how the Development Power (DP) is accumulated or released, establishes the ...

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

The Origins of Analytic Mechanics in the 18th Century [PDF]
In the present chapter, I sketch the history of this development, from the introduction of the first variational principles to the elaboration of Lagrange's "analytical mechanics".

Single‐cell DNA methylation (scDNAme) profiling maps epimutational clonal evolution, revealing mechanisms of malignancy and therapeutic resistance across diverse cancer types. By providing a high‐resolution landscape of intratumoral heterogeneity, these technologies empower precise patient stratification, guide the development of enhanced ...

Modal approaches in metaphysics and quantum mechanics [PDF]
Some interpretations of quantum mechanics use notions of possible states and possible trajectories. We investigate how this modal approach correlates with several metaphysical conceptions of a transition from potential to actual existence. The comparison

Adaptive drag reduction of a sphere using smart morphable skin
In this study, a novel smart surface-morphing technique is devised that dynamically optimises roughness parameter on a sphere with varying flow conditions to minimise drag. A comprehensive series of experiments are first performed to systematically study
