Analytic spread of filtrations and symbolic algebras

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, 2022
In this paper we define and explore the analytic spread $\ell(\mathcal I)$ of a filtration in a local ring. We show that, especially for divisorial and symbolic filtrations, some basic properties of the analytic spread of an ideal extend to filtrations, even when the filtration is non Noetherian.

Deriving Fuzzy Weights from the Consistent Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is one of the most popular multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods, and so is its extension fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP).

Analytic spread modulo an element and symbolic rees algebras

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1990
This article concerns the behavior of the symbolic powers of prime ideals of dimension one in regular local rings; the motivating problem is to find conditions for the symbolic Rees algebra \(S=\oplus P^{(n)}t^ n \) to be noetherian. The main result is that if T is a d-dimensional local domain (regular or complete takes care of the technical hypotheses)

Reduction numbers for ideals of analytic spread one

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1987
Let R be a local (Noetherian) ring with infinite residue field, and let I be an ideal of R. An ideal \(J\subseteq I\) is called a reduction provided there exists a nonnegative integer r such that \(JI^ r=I^{r+1}\), and a reduction is said to be minimal if it contains no proper reduction of itself. Northcott and Rees proved that minimal reductions exist,

Memetic rhetorical theory: an analytic model for the spread of information online

open access: yesRes Rhetorica, 2021
Modern discourse is often characterized by such extreme polarization that participants operate from entirely different sets of facts. These alternative facts represent a new line of inquiry for rhetoricians, who must determine how false facts gain ...

Selecting The Effective Ways to Prevent COVID-19 From Spreading Using Fuzzy AHP Method

open access: yesJournal of Computing Research and Innovation, 2023
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on global health and economies. This study aims to identify highly effective prevention strategies for mitigating the spread of COVID-19 using the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method. The FAHP

Approximated expressions for the coherent synchrotron radiation effect in various accelerator scenarios

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2021
In this paper, we present analytic expressions for the coherent synchrotron radiation (CSR)-induced rms energy spread and the resulting emittance dilution due to three common scenarios in electron particle accelerators: An electron bunch transitioning ...
