ANALYTIC SPREAD AND INTEGRAL CLOSURE OF INTEGRALLY DECOMPOSABLE MODULES [PDF]

open access: yesNagoya Mathematical Journal, 2020
AbstractWe relate the analytic spread of a module expressed as the direct sum of two submodules with the analytic spread of its components. We also study a class of submodules whose integral closure can be expressed in terms of the integral closure of its row ideals, and therefore can be obtained by means of a simple computer algebra procedure.

Analysis of Amyloid-β Pathology Spread in Mouse Models Suggests Spread Is Driven by Spatial Proximity, Not Connectivity [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2017
While the spread of some neurodegenerative disease-associated proteinopathies, such as tau and α-synuclein, is well studied and clearly implicates transsynaptic pathology transmission, research into the progressive spread of amyloid-β pathology has been ...

Epsilon multiplicity and analytic spread of filtrations

open access: yesIllinois Journal of Mathematics, 2023
We extend the epsilon multiplicity of ideals defined by Ulrich and Validashti to epsilon multiplicity of filtrations, and show that under mild assumptions this multiplicity exists as a limit. We show that in rather general rings, the epsilon multiplicity of a Q-divisorial filtration is positive if and only if the analytic spread of the filtration is ...

Analytic spread and associated primes of divisorial filtrations

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2022
We prove that a classical theorem of McAdam [Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 80 (1980), pp. 555–559] about the analytic spread of an ideal in a Noetherian local ring is true for divisorial filtrations on an excellent local domain R

Identification of dominant risk factor involved in spread of COVID-19 using hesitant fuzzy MCDM methodology

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
The outburst of the pandemic Coronavirus disease since December 2019, has severely impacted the health and economy worldwide. The epidemic is spreading fast through various means, as the virus is very infectious.

SYMBOLIC ANALYTIC SPREAD: UPPER BOUNDS AND APPLICATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Institute of Mathematics of Jussieu, 2020
AbstractThe symbolic analytic spread of an ideal $I$ is defined in terms of the rate of growth of the minimal number of generators of its symbolic powers. In this article, we find upper bounds for the symbolic analytic spread under certain conditions in terms of other invariants of $I$. Our methods also work for more general systems of ideals.

Quantifying a Systems Map: Network Analysis of a Childhood Obesity Causal Loop Diagram. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Causal loop diagrams developed by groups capture a shared understanding of complex problems and provide a visual tool to guide interventions. This paper explores the application of network analytic methods as a new way to gain quantitative insight into ...

Quantifying patch‐specific seed dispersal and local population dynamics to estimate population spread of an endangered plant species

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2021
Aim Habitat loss and fragmentation impose high extinction risk upon endangered plant species globally. For many endangered plant species, as the remnant habitats become smaller and more fragmented, it is vital to estimate the population spread rate of ...

COVID 19 related perceived discrimination in medical settings, March and April 2020

open access: yesInquiry: The Journal of Health Care Organization, Provision, and Financing, 2021
Global spread of a disease causes fear that can lead to discrimination against the people infected with the disease. On December 2019, COVID-19 emerged in Wuhan, China, and has spread throughout the world. In this descriptive and analytic study Perceived
