Analytic expression for Taylor–Couette stability boundary [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Fluids, 1996
We analyze the mechanism that determines the boundary of stability in Taylor–Couette flow. By simple physical argument we derive an analytic expression to approximate the stability line for all radius ratios and all speed ratios, for co- and counterrotating cylinders. The expression includes viscosity and so generalizes Rayleigh’s criterion. We achieve

Constant false alarm rate detection method in polarimetric synthetic aperture radar imagery based on whitening filter under inverse beta distribution

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detection method based on multi-look polarisation whitening filter (MPWF) has not been obtained in the polarimetric synthetic aperture radar imagery when the texture variable obeys the Inverse Beta distribution.

Compact analytical form for a class of three-loop vacuum Feynman diagrams [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We present compact, fully analytical expressions for singular parts of a class of three-loop diagrams which cannot be factorized into lower-loop integrals.

An analytical expression for dielectric decrement law

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
Dielectric decrement means that the dielectric constant declines with the increase in the ionic concentration of the system, and it is found that, in the dilute solution, the law of the dielectric decrement is linear.

Connecting protein and mRNA burst distributions for stochastic models of gene expression

open access: yes, 2011
The intrinsic stochasticity of gene expression can lead to large variability in protein levels for genetically identical cells. Such variability in protein levels can arise from infrequent synthesis of mRNAs which in turn give rise to bursts of protein ...

Analytical evaluation of atomic form factors: application to Rayleigh scattering

open access: yes, 2014
Atomic form factors are widely used for the characterization of targets and specimens, from crystallography to biology. By using recent mathematical results, here we derive an analytical expression for the atomic form factor within the independent ...

Exact analytical expression for magnetoresistance using quantum groups

open access: yes, 2004
We obtain an exact analytical expression for magnetoresistance using noncommutative geometry and quantum groups. Then we will show that there is a deep relationship between magnetoresistance and the quantum group $su_{q}(2)$, from which we understand the ...

Growth of Chlamydia pneumoniae Is Enhanced in Cells with Impaired Mitochondrial Function

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2017
Effective growth and replication of obligate intracellular pathogens depend on host cell metabolism. How this is connected to host cell mitochondrial function has not been studied so far.
