Analytical mechanics solution for measuring the deflection of strengthened RC beams using FRP plates
Partial-interaction due to sliding between the steel bars, adhesively attached FRP plates and their bordering concrete surface, accompanied with the detachment of the FRP plates due to intermediate crack (IC) debonding make the deflection of strengthened

Geometric Nonlinearities in Field Theory, Condensed Matter and Analytical Mechanics [PDF]
There are two very important subjects in physics: Symmetry of dynamical models and nonlinearity. All really fundamental models are invariant under some particular symmetry groups.

A Simple Analytical Formulation for Periodic Orbits in Binary Stars [PDF]
An analytical approximation to periodic orbits in the circular restricted three-body problem is provided. The formulation given in this work is based in calculations known from classical mechanics, but with the addition of the necessary terms to give a ...

An Approach to Growth Mechanics Based on the Analytical Mechanics of Nonholonomic Systems
Motivated by the convenience, in some biomechanical problems, of interpreting the mass balance law of a growing medium as a nonholonomic constraint on the time rate of a structural descriptor known as growth tensor, we employ some results of analytical ...

Quantum Mechanics with Random Imaginary Scalar Potential
We study spectral properties of a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian describing a quantum particle propagating in a random imaginary scalar potential. Cast in the form of an effective field theory, we obtain an analytical expression for the ensemble averaged one ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Some Aspects of Modality in Analytical Mechanics [PDF]
This paper discusses some of the modal involvements of analytical mechanics. I first review the elementary aspects of the Lagrangian, Hamiltonian and Hamilton-Jacobi approaches. I then discuss two modal involvements; both are related to David Lewis' work

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

From Classical to Quantum Mechanics: "How to translate physical ideas into mathematical language"
In this paper, we investigate the connection between Classical and Quantum Mechanics by dividing Quantum Theory in two parts: - General Quantum Axiomatics (a system is described by a state in a Hilbert space, observables are self-adjoint operators and so
