It is the muscles of smiling that are directly responsible for the shape and depth of the fold, and in their absence of function, as in facial palsy, the nasolabial fold disappears.

American Heart Journal, 1971Abstract Eighty-five specimens with a tetralogy of Fallot from patients varying in age from infancy to adult life were studied for (1) the nature of the pulmonary valve, the right ventricular infundibulum, the pulmonary arteries, the aortic arch, and the atrial septum and (2) the association of other anomalies and of bacterial endocarditis.

The Journal of Hand Surgery, 1990Two distinct anatomic variations in the human midcarpal joint have been identified. In type I the triquetrohamate joint is on a smooth oblique plane with the capitolunate joint. In type 2 the triquetrohamate joint is separated from the capitolunate joint by a concave transition facet on the hamate and lunate.

Anatomical variations of the extensor pollicis brevis
The Journal of Hand Surgery: Journal of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, 1986Sixteen arms in eight cadavers were dissected. The extensor pollicis brevis followed the description given in standard anatomy texts in only three out of the sixteen arms. Four out of the eight cadavers showed asymmetry of the extensor pollicis brevis between their two sides.
