Bone Anchored Hearing Aids for the Treatment of Asymmetric Hearing Loss
OBJECTIVES: Asymmetric hearing loss is generally defined as a moderate-to-profound hearing loss in the poorer ear and a mild-to-moderate hearing loss in the better ear. Application of a bone conduction hearing aid is one of the possible treatments for the poorer ear in asymmetric hearing loss.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

High-fidelity Modeling of MEMS resonators - Part 1: Anchor loss mechanisms through substrate
A computational model is developed for the prediction of wave propagation in the substrate of a MEMS resonator to study energy loss mechanisms from the vibrating beams to the substrate, viz., anchor loss.

Study, design, and characterization of anchor loss reduction and tuning the frequency of MEMS resonators for timing applications [PDF]
Electrically powered devices and machines with electronic components require precise timing to function properly. The need for accuracy has become increasingly critical with the growth of high-speed telecommunications and data processing.

Analysis of anchorage performance on new tension-compression anchor Ⅲ field test
The new tension-compression composite anchor (TC-anchor) is developed to overcome the shortcomings of the traditional tension anchor (T-anchor), such as stress concentration, insufficient bonding strength between anchorage body and soil mass, and low ...

N-glycans and glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchor act on polarized sorting of mouse PrP(C) in Madin-Darby canine kidney cells. [PDF]
The cellular prion protein (PrP(C)) plays a fundamental role in prion disease. PrP(C) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein with two variably occupied N-glycosylation sites. In general, GPI-anchor and N-glycosylation direct proteins to

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...
