Volcanic Ash Weathering and Pedogenesis in Mount Penanjakan: Soil Evolution Supporting Pioneer Vegetation [PDF]
Volcanic ash deposits play a fundamental role in soil formation processes and the establishment of pioneer vegetation in highland ecosystems. This study investigates soil evolution and pedogenesis derived from volcanic ash in Mount Penanjakan, Bromo ...

Demonstration of an All‐Optical AND Gate Mediated by Photochromic Molecules
A logic AND gate that runs on photons is demonstrated. It relies on two spatially separated photochromic molecules that work in tandem. Abstract The realization of a photonic logic AND gate, i.e. a logic AND gate that runs on photons rather than electrons, and where all steps are controlled by light, is demonstrated. In a proof‐of‐principle experiment,

Melanic and Fulvic Andisols in Volcanic Soils derived from some Volcanoes in West Java
DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v7i4.149Melanic and fulvic Andisols are the great groups in the classification of volcanic soils Andisols, which describe the soils with high organic carbon content in the epipedon. The organic C must be more than 6% in the upper 30 cm

Genesis and Properties of Peat at Toba Highland Area of North Sumatra [PDF]
In Indonesia, peat soil in the highland area is only found in the plateau of Toba Highland, North Sumatra, and its morphologi-cal, physical, and chemical properties have been studied. Four profiles of peat soil were made in the field and eighteen samples

MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.
