SUMMARYThe incidence of anencephaly in Liverpool in the 3‐year period 1960‐62 was 3.27 per 1,000 total births.No seasonal variation in births or conceptions of anencephalics was demonstrable.The sex ratio was 2.4 females to 1 male. Sex ratio did not vary with length of gestation, but the preponderance of females was higher at birth weights of 3J lb. or
