CD11b+CD43hiLy6Clo splenocyte‐derived macrophages exacerbate liver fibrosis via spleen–liver axis
A population of splenic monocytes migrate into the liver and shift to macrophages, which account for the exacerbation of liver fibrosis. Abstract Background and Aims Monocyte‐derived macrophages (MoMFs), a dominant population of hepatic macrophages under inflammation, play a crucial role in liver fibrosis progression.

Doxorubicin‐induced cardiomyopathy involves mitochondrial energy metabolism dysfunction, exacerbated by cardiomyocyte‐specific Slc25a49 deficiency via oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) suppression and glycolysis activation. The Slc25a49–glucose‐6‐phosphate (G6P)–activator protein‐1 (AP‐1) axis drives myocardial injury by upregulating Sln, disrupting ...

Fragment Autoantigens Stimulated T‐Cell‐Immunotherapy (FAST) as a Fast Autologous Cancer Vaccine
A personalized whole tumor cell vaccine (FAST) is developed to address immunosuppressive tumor microenvironments and genomic instability‐driven heterogeneity. Irradiation and cryoablation‐treated tumor cells generate fragmented antigens (FAs) that activate broad‐spectrum antigen presentation via upregulated immunogenic cell death, MHC‐I, and damage ...

ABSTRACT Background The pathogenesis of inflammation in eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis (ECRS) and non‐eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis (NECRS) remains poorly understood. This study aimed to assess immune cell infiltration within the sinonasal microenvironment in these conditions.

A novel, simple coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model, using a suturing method for tail‐looping, without the need for external fixation and complex surgery. The model has high reproducibility and stability and overcomes the disadvantages of the existing animal models of disc degeneration.

Abstract Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) affects many women, with an estimated lifetime risk of surgical intervention of 18.7%. There is a need for alternative approaches as the use of synthetic nondegradable mesh was stopped due to severe adverse events, and as current methods for pelvic floor repair have high POP recurrence rates.

Establishment of rat model for aspiration pneumonia and potential mechanisms
Aspiration pneumonia was induced in Sprague Dawley rats by intratracheal instillation of hydrochloric acid (HCl, 1.5 μL/g.wt, pH = 1) followed by lipopolysaccharide (LPS, 20 μg/g.wt) after 1 h. The model reproduced hallmark features of acute lung injury, including histological lung damage, microvascular dysfunction, inflammation, hypoxemia, and ...

Background In patients with coronavirus disease pneumonia, strong spontaneous breathing increases pulmonary vascular permeability and induces self‐inflicted lung injury, prolonging the intensive care unit stay and worsening prognosis.

On the emergence of criticality for inhalation-driven particle deposition in the anatomical upper airway [PDF]
Inhalation directs air through a defined pathway, initiating from nostrils, moving through the main nasal cavity, past the pharynx and trachea, and culminating in the lungs. Inhaled particles, of a range of sizes, are ferried by this incoming air but are filtered and trapped by upper airway structures to protect the delicate lower respiratory system ...
