Cognitive function recovery rate in early postoperative period: comparison of propofol, sevoflurane and isoflurane anesthesia

open access: yesJournal of Health Sciences, 2013
Introduction: There is no simple answer to the question as to when the brain function is back to normal after anaesthesia. Research done so far has identified different factors influencing the rate of cognitive function recovery and type of anaesthetic as one of those factors. Methods: This study encountered 90 patients hospitalized in neurosurgical ...

Real‐World Safety and Effectiveness of JAK Inhibitors in Systemic Sclerosis: A Propensity‐Matched Study From the EUSTAR Cohort

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective JAK inhibitors (JAKi) have shown promising effects in early‐phase studies of systemic sclerosis (SSc). We aimed to assess the safety and explore the effectiveness of JAKi compared to conventional immunosuppressants in SSc. Methods A longitudinal retrospective study of the European Scleroderma Trials and Research Group (EUSTAR) cohort was ...

Routine administration of neostigmine after recovery of spontaneous breathing versus neuromuscular monitor-guided administration of neostigmine in pediatric patients: a parallel, randomized, controlled study

open access: yesTrials, 2023
Background Neostigmine used to reverse the muscle relaxants should be guided by neuromuscular monitoring, as the degree of spontaneous pre-reversal recovery is the key to success to reverse the neuromuscular block.

Applying healthcare failure mode and effect analysis to patient pain management in the anesthesia recovery period

open access: yesChinese Nursing Research, 2016
AbstractObjectiveTo standardize pain management in the anesthesia recovery period and improve the effects of analgesia on acute postoperative pain.MethodsUsing healthcare failure mode and effect analysis (HFMEA), we analyzed the primary cause of patients' pain and subsequently determined the process and risk priority number (RPN).ResultsActions were ...

Association of Elevated Platelets and C‐Reactive Protein With Severe Disease and Poor Survival in Systemic Sclerosis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Elevated C‐reactive protein (CRP) levels in systemic sclerosis (SSc) have been linked with severe disease and worse survival, but the role of platelet levels remains unclear. This study examined whether elevated platelet levels, CRP levels, or both are associated with disease severity, progression, and survival in SSc.

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.
