Cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal and behavioral effects of intravenous lidocaine in healthy, conscious horses and evaluation of the relationship with lidocaine and monoethylglycinexylidide serum concentrations [PDF]
This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between the serum concentrations of lidocaine/ monoethylglycinexylidide (MEGX) and their effects on several systems in horses.

Hydrocarbon molar water solubility predicts NMDA vs. GABAA receptor modulation. [PDF]
BackgroundMany anesthetics modulate 3-transmembrane (such as NMDA) and 4-transmembrane (such as GABAA) receptors. Clinical and experimental anesthetics exhibiting receptor family specificity often have low water solubility. We hypothesized that the molar

Injection pain of propofol in children: A comparison of two formulations without added lidocaine
Background: Propofol emulsion in medium and long-chain triglycerides (MCT/LCT) has been reported to cause less injection pain than other propofol solutions in adult studies.

Effects of propofol-based total intravenous anesthesia on gastric cancer: a retrospective study
Background Several kinds of cancer surgeries with propofol-based total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) have been shown to have better outcomes than those with sevoflurane-based inhalational anesthesia (INHA).

Rod‐shaped particles outperform spherical particles of the same volume in preventing neutrophil infiltration to inflamed areas, both in vitro and in vivo. This therapeutic effectiveness is attributed to better cell targeting and decreased cell motility, resulting from the geometry‐driven phagocytosis and inhibited actin polymerization.

Zebrafish behavioural profiling identifies GABA and serotonin receptor ligands related to sedation and paradoxical excitation. [PDF]
Anesthetics are generally associated with sedation, but some anesthetics can also increase brain and motor activity-a phenomenon known as paradoxical excitation.

Establishing a long-lasting, functioning venous access in a non-anesthetized mouse is very challenging at least. Since we needed a reliable venous access to titrate intravenous anesthetics, we refined and combined previously described methods.

To suppress uveal melanoma metastasis (UM), the GSH‐responsive polymer named NP@Oxa/Criz has been successfully prepared. NP@Oxa/Criz selectively accumulates in UM tumors, targeting HGF/c‐Met Axis to undermine the stemness and metastasis of UM while triggering immunogenic cell death through DAMPs release to boost anti‐tumor immunity.
