Effect of Dibucaine on Phase Behavior of Ternary Liposome [PDF]

open access: yesMed. Chem. Commun. 6, 1444-1451 (2015), 2014
We investigated the effect of Dibucaine hydrochloride (DC$\cdot$HCl), one of the local anesthetics, on phase behavior of ternary liposome composed of dioleoylphosphatidylcholine (DOPC), dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC), and cholesterol (Chol). The large DOPC/DPPC/Chol liposome, that is directly observable by optical microscope, is commonly known ...

Cardiac Organoid Model Inspired Micro‐Robot Smart Patch to Treat Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The heart organoid model exhibits the acidic microenvironment characteristic of myocardial infarction, which emerges as a pivotal force propelling the movement of micro‐robots. These micro‐robots, administered through microneedles, can penetrate deep into the tissue, effectively delivering therapeutic payloads to facilitate heart repair.

Upconversion Nanoparticle‐Covalent Organic Framework Core–shell Particles as Therapeutic Microrobots Trackable With Optoacoustic Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Upconversion nanoparticle‐covalent organic framework core–shell particles provide enhanced contrast for optoacoustic imaging by leveraging the optical absorption of upconversion luminescence within the covalent organic framework matrix. Beyond their role as contrast agents, these particles enable customizable therapeutic agent loading and release, as ...

Flexible 3D Kirigami Probes for In Vitro and In Vivo Neural Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A customizable and scalable approach to fabricate flexible 3D kirigami microelectrode arrays (MEAs) featuring up to 128 shanks, including surface and penetrating electrodes designed to interact with the 3D space of neural tissue, is presented. The 3D kirigami MEAs are successfully deployed in several neural applications, both in vitro and in vivo, and ...

LOCAL ANESTHETICS INDUCED ALLERGIC REACTIONS AND CONFOUNDING FACTORS

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 2019
The local anesthetics (LAs) immediate-type allergy is considered extremely rare by allergists. However, many health care practitioners and patients overestimate the risk of LA allergy and its potential of cross-reactivity.

Proteomic Learning of Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) Receptor-Mediated Anesthesia [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Anesthetics are crucial in surgical procedures and therapeutic interventions, but they come with side effects and varying levels of effectiveness, calling for novel anesthetic agents that offer more precise and controllable effects. Targeting Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors, the primary inhibitory receptors in the central nervous system, could

Biomimetic Dynamics of Nanoscale Groove and Ridge Topography for Stem Cell Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic nanoscale groove‐ridge structures are engineered by flexibly conjugating RGD‐magnetic nanoparticles to nanogroove templates with variable groove widths at the molecular scale. Magnetic control enables cyclic switching between nanoscale groove and ridge states that modulates ligand accessibility of cellular integrins.

Ultrasound matrix imaging for transcranial in-vivo localization microscopy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Transcranial ultrasound imaging is usually limited by skull-induced attenuation and high-order aberrations. By using contrast agents such as microbubbles in combination with ultrafast imaging, not only can the signal-to-noise ratio be improved, but super-resolution images down to the micrometer scale of the brain vessels can be obtained.
