Kinetic and structural characterisation of domain‐specific angiotensin I‐converting enzyme inhibition by captopril, rentiapril and zofenoprilat

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 11, Page 3399-3414, June 2026.
Angiotensin I‐converting enzyme (ACE) contains two catalytic domains (nACE and cACE) and is a key therapeutic target for hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Current ACE inhibitors (ACEi) nonselectively inhibit both domains, causing adverse effects. Selective inhibition requires an understanding of domain‐specific binding.

PECU: A multicenter study on pediatric patients with cold‐induced urticaria

open access: yesPediatric Allergy and Immunology, Volume 37, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Background Cold‐induced urticaria (ColdU) is a rare chronic inducible urticaria that can cause systemic reactions, including cold‐induced anaphylaxis (ColdA), but pediatric data are limited. The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical characteristics, comorbidities, management approaches, risk of anaphylaxis, and long‐term course of ...

Parental self‐efficacy in food allergy management: Determinants and challenges

open access: yesPediatric Allergy and Immunology, Volume 37, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Background Food allergy management requires dietary adherence, prevention of accidental exposures, and prompt reaction management. Identifying sociodemographic factors linked to low self‐efficacy may improve management. Methods This study was conducted among parents of children diagnosed with food allergy who presented to our clinic ...

Health inequities in pediatric anaphylaxis: A policy framework and call to action for equitable care from SIAIP allergy prevention commission

open access: yesPediatric Allergy and Immunology, Volume 37, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Pediatric anaphylaxis is a rapidly evolving and potentially fatal allergic reaction whose incidence is increasing worldwide, particularly among young children. Despite international guidelines identifying intramuscular epinephrine as the first‐line, life‐saving treatment, significant health inequities persist in the prevention, recognition ...

Transfusion‐related alpha‐gal syndrome: Two new cases expanding the demographic and geographic spectrum, and evidence of a diagnostic gap in allergic transfusion reaction evaluation

open access: yesTransfusion, Volume 66, Issue 6, Page 1167-1179, June 2026.
Abstract Background Transfusion‐related alpha‐gal syndrome (TRAGS) has recently been proposed as a cause of allergic transfusion reactions (ATRs) in which alpha‐gal‐specific IgE in sensitized group O (or potentially group A) recipients reacts with epitopes on group B or AB plasma‐containing components.
