Supramolecular Degraders: An Emerging Paradigm in Targeted Protein Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dynamic supramolecular assembly reshapes targeted protein degradation by coordinating modular degrader construction, delivery, functional integration, and intracellular assembly or activation across proteasomal, endosomal–lysosomal, and autophagy–lysosomal pathways.

Specificity and kinetics of human candidate cerebral malaria biomarkers in mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Malaria
Cerebral malaria (CM) is a complication of infection with Plasmodium falciparum that can lead to cognitive sequelae and death. The diagnosis of CM is based on clinical criteria, which leads to frequent misdiagnosis as it is confused with other infections

OAF Blocks SIAH1‐Mediated Degradation of SCPX, a Therapeutic Strategy for MASLD

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows OAF directly binds to SCPX and inhibits its interaction with the E3 ligase SIAH1, thereby protecting SCPX from ubiquitin‐dependent degradation and stabilizing its levels. This OAF‐SCPX axis represents a novel pathway in lipid homeostasis, highlighting OAF as a promising therapeutic candidate for MASLD.

Serum Angiopoietin-like peptide 4 levels in patients with hepatic steatosis

open access: yes, 2021
Objectives: Angiopoietin-like peptide 4 (ANGPTL-4) plays an important role in lipid metabolism by inhibiting the enzyme lipoprotein lipase. This effect of ANGPTL-4 results in suppression of the release of plasma triglyceri-dederived fatty acids. Increase

Enhancing Meat Quality Through Dietary Fiber: Insights Into the Gut Microbiota‐Derived Short‐Chain Fatty Acids‐Muscle Axis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary fiber (DF) modulates meat quality through the gut‐muscle axis by reshaping gut microbiota, improving intestinal integrity, reducing inflammation, and regulating muscle metabolism. These mechanisms influence muscle fiber characteristics and post‐mortem biochemistry, thereby enhancing tenderness, juiciness, color, flavor, and nutritional value of

ANGPTL4 silencing via antisense oligonucleotides reduces plasma triglycerides and glucose in mice without causing lymphadenopathy

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2022
Angiopoietin-like 4 (ANGPTL4) is an important regulator of plasma triglyceride (TG) levels and an attractive pharmacological target for lowering plasma lipids and reducing cardiovascular risk.

Angiopoietin-like 4 Increases Pulmonary Tissue Leakiness and Damage during Influenza Pneumonia

open access: yesCell Reports, 2015
Excessive host inflammatory responses negatively impact disease outcomes in respiratory infection. Host-pathogen interactions during the infective phase of influenza are well studied, but little is known about the host’s response during the repair stage.

Angiopoietin-Like 4 (ANGPTL4) in Patients with Psoriasis, Lichen Planus and Vitiligo—A Pilot Study from the Bialystok+ Polish Longitudinal University Study

open access: yesMetabolites, 2022
Psoriasis, vitiligo and lichen planus (LP) are autoimmune skin diseases associated with metabolic syndrome. Angiopoietin-like 4 (ANGPTL4) is a member of angiopoietin-like proteins, which play an important role in lipid metabolism, and its serum ...

Oligomerization and Regulated Proteolytic Processing of Angiopoietin-like Protein 4 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2004
Angiopoietin-like protein 4 (Angptl4) is a recently identified circulating protein expressed primarily in adipose tissue and liver. Also known as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-gamma angiopoietin-related, fasting induced adipose factor, and hepatic fibrinogen/angiopoietin-related protein, recombinant Angptl4 causes increase of plasma
