Recurrence After Atrial Fibrillation Ablation and Investigational Biomarkers of Cardiac Remodeling

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background Recurrence after atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation remains common. We evaluated the association between recurrence and levels of biomarkers of cardiac remodeling, and their ability to improve recurrence prediction when added to a clinical ...

Electrical Stimulation Directs Formation of Perfused Vasculature in Engineered Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 33, 15 June 2026.
Electrical stimulation (ESTIM) enhances vasculature formation in engineered human tissues. In 3D endothelial‐fibroblast constructs, conditioning with ESTIM promotes the formation of dense and highly branched networks that rapidly anastomose with mouse vasculature when implanted in vivo. Vessels formed under ESTIM are importantly functionally perfusable.

Disruption of the angiopoietin-like system connects lipid homeostasis and hypothalamic dysfunction in ALS

open access: yesBMC Medicine
Background Alterations in lipid metabolism are manifestations of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) that contribute to the risk and rate of progression.

Mechanisms of Pericyte‐Mediated Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 33, 15 June 2026.
Pericytes play multifarious roles in promoting cancer metastasis by facilitating metastatic cancer cell dissemination, circulating tumor cell survival, tissue extravasation, premetastatic niche formation, and metastatic tumor growth. These cells have intertwined interactions with vascular endothelial cells to modulate cancer cell behavior and ...

Fluorescence fluctuation analysis of Arabidopsis thaliana somatic embryogenesis receptor-like kinase and brassinosteroid insensitive 1 receptor ologomerization.

open access: yes, 2008
Receptor kinases play a key role in the cellular perception of signals. To verify models for receptor activation through dimerization, an experimental system is required to determine the precise oligomerization status of proteins within living cells ...

Decoding Undesirable Inflammatory Responses of Nucleic Acid‐Delivering Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 33, 15 June 2026.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) enable efficient nucleic acid delivery, but their immunogenicity is a double‐edged sword. This review explores LNP‐driven innate and adaptive immunity, covering lipid components, endosomal escape, and nucleic acid sensing.

Angiopoietin-like protein 1 suppresses SLUG to inhibit cancer cell motility

open access: yes, 2013
[[abstract]]Angiopoietin-like protein 1 (ANGPTL1) is a potent regulator of angiogenesis. Growing evidence suggests that ANGPTL family proteins not only target endothelial cells but also affect tumor cell behavior.

ANGPTL3 as a target for treating lipid disorders in type 2 diabetes patients

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a globally prevalent metabolic disorder, and cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a significant cause of mortality and morbidity in diabetic individuals. In addition to hyperglycemia, lipid abnormalities associated with T2DM
