Functional selectivity profiling of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor using pathway-wide BRET signaling sensors

open access: yesScience Signaling, 2018
Bioluminescence-based biosensors enable comprehensive profiling of G protein–coupled receptor signaling bias. Biosensors for GPCR-biased signaling Upon binding to ligands, G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs) stimulate heterotrimeric G proteins and ...

Hydroxychloroquine Associated With Lower Glomerular Filtration Rate Decline in Lupus Nephritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) protects kidney function in lupus nephritis (LN) by preventing flares, yet some cohort studies show no significant benefit in kidney function with HCQ. Clarifying these conflicting findings by showing early and long‐term benefits of HCQ on kidney function preservation is critical.

Angiotensin Converting Enzyme and Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor Polymorphisms in Patients with Coronary Aneurysms

open access: yesThrombosis Journal, 2003
Background Conflicting results have been reported regarding the association of gene polymorphisms in the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) with different aspects of coronary artery disease (CAD), such as myocardial infarction, neointimal hyperplasia or ...

Characterization of a mutant type-1 angiotensin II receptor

open access: yesKidney International, 1994
We have used PCR to amplify the rat AT1 receptor from liver mRNA. The receptor DNA was subcloned into pcDNAI and a number of individual clones were transiently expressed in COS-7 cells. These individual receptors were characterized by binding of [125I] Sar1, Ile8-angiotensin II.

Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor [PDF]

open access: yesHypertension, 1998
Abstract—Caveolae are membrane domains that have been implicated in signal transduction, and caveolins are major structural components of these domains. We found that all reported caveolin isoforms (caveolin-1, -2, and -3) were expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs); however, only caveolin-1 mRNA was regulated by angiotensin II (Ang II). Exploring Patients’ Profiles Associated With the Resolution of Acute Calcium Pyrophosphate Arthritis Treated With Colchicine and Prednisone: Post Hoc Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The objective was to identify factors determining acute arthritis resolution and safety with colchicine and prednisone in acute calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal arthritis. Methods We conducted a post hoc analysis of the COLCHICORT trial, which compared colchicine and prednisone for the treatment of acute CPP crystal arthritis, using a ...

The Effects of Angiotensin II or Angiotensin 1-7 on Rat Pial Microcirculation during Hypoperfusion and Reperfusion Injury: Role of Redox Stress

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2021
Renin–angiotensin systems produce angiotensin II (Ang II) and angiotensin 1-7 (Ang 1-7), which are able to induce opposite effects on circulation. This study in vivo assessed the effects induced by Ang II or Ang 1-7 on rat pial microcirculation during ...

Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor Antibodies and Increased Angiotensin II Sensitivity in Pregnant Rats [PDF]

open access: yesHypertension, 2011
Pregnant women who subsequently develop preeclampsia are highly sensitive to infused angiotensin (Ang) II; the sensitivity persists postpartum. Activating autoantibodies against the Ang II type 1 (AT 1 ) receptor are present in preeclampsia.
