We generated multi‐tissue single‐cell transcriptomic atlases of camels and cattle, uncovering conserved and lineage‐specific cellular features across digestive and metabolic systems. Cross‐species comparisons revealed the evolutionary origin of the camel glandular sac and identified novel cell populations linked to physiological specialization ...

Novel Antihypertensive Medications to Target the Renin-Angiotensin System: Mechanisms and Research
An estimated 1.28 billion individuals in the global population suffer from hypertension. Importantly, uncontrolled hypertension is strongly linked to various cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEi) improve cardiac function and remodeling and prolong survival in patients with heart failure (HF). Blockade of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) with an angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist (AT1-ant ...

Renal fibrosis, a hallmark of CKD, lacks effective treatments. Herein, we developed a multimodal AI model (TCM‐SPred) to identify anti‐fibrotic agents and found that dehydrocostus lactone (DCL) targets IQGAP1 to inhibit Wnt signaling, blocking the interaction between IQGAP1 and CCT3, demonstrating potent anti‐fibrotic activity in vitro and in vivo ...

TRIM40 Drives Pathological Cardiac Hypertrophy and Heart Failure via Ubiquitination of PKN2
This study identifies the E3 ligase TRIM40 as a key driver of pathological cardiac hypertrophy. TRIM40 binds PKN2 via its B‐box domain and, through its C29‐dependent catalytic activity, mediates K63‐linked ubiquitination of PKN2. This modification enhances PKN2 phosphorylation at Ser815, thereby driving hypertrophy.

Advances in the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System: Relevance to Diabetic Nephropathy
Hypertension is now recognized as a key contributory factor to the development and progression of kidney disease in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The renin angiotensin system (RAS) and its effector molecule angiotensin II, in particular, have a range ...

[Losartan: angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist].
The angiotensin II (A II) type 1 receptor (AT1) antagonists represent a new pharmacologic class of drugs. These drugs antagonize A II induced biologic actions. Initial clinical trials suggest that these drugs are effective in the treatment of essential hypertension and hypertensive patients with renal disease.

This retrospective study explored the potential impact of renin–angiotensin system inhibitors (RASIs) on renal function during the ileostomy period in patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery. RASI use was associated with early postoperative renal impairment, and relatively slow recovery of renal function was observed until stoma closure.

miR-155 suppresses angiotensin II type 1 receptor synthesis during placental morphogenesis
Several microRNAs play vital roles in placental development. miR-155 has been implicated in placental development and can directly interact with a variety of targets, including angiotensin type II receptor 1 (AT1R) (Agtr1) mRNA.
