Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

An Aerial Target Localization Method Using TOA and AOA Measurements with GEO-UAV Bistatic Configuration

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Based on multi-station spatial diversity capability, GEO-UAV distributed radar could achieve high-precision aerial target localization with the single-transmitting and multiple-receiving configuration. However, the actual observation area can hardly be

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Multi-Array 5G V2V Relative Positioning: Performance Bounds

open access: yes, 2019
We study the performance bounds of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) relative positioning for vehicles with multiple antenna arrays. The Cram\'{e}r-Rao bound for the estimation of the relative position and the orientation of the Tx vehicle is derived, when angle ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Gaussian Channel Model for Mobile Multipath Environment

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
A model of an angle-spread source is described, termed the “Gaussian channel model” (GCM). This model is used to represent signals transmitted between a user equipment and a cellular base station.

Research on 2×2 MIMO Channel with Truncated Laplacian Azimuth Power Spectrum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Rayleigh fading channel with truncated Laplacian azimuth power spectrum (APS) is studied. By using the power correlation matrix of MIMO channel model and the modified Jakes simulator, into which with random phases ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Radio Interferometric Angle of Arrival Estimation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Several localization algorithms exist for wireless sensor networks that use angle of arrival measurements to estimate node position. However, there are limited options for actually obtaining the angle of arrival using resource-constrained devices. In this paper, we describe a radio interferometric technique for determining bearings from an anchor node ...
