Angle–of–Arrival (AoA) Factorization in Multipath Channels

ICASSP 2021 - 2021 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2021
This paper considers the problem of estimating K angle of arrivals (AoA) using an array of M > K microphones. We assume the source signal is human voice, hence unknown to the receiver. Moreover, the signal components that arrive over K spatial paths are strongly correlated since they are delayed copies of the same source signal.

Performance of ESPRIT and Root-MUSIC for Angle-of-Arrival(AOA) Estimation

2018 IEEE World Symposium on Communication Engineering (WSCE), 2018
AOA estimation is used for localization of incident signals such as automotive radar system. [1] There are various methods for estimating the AOA of the signal source. The angle-of-arrival(AOA) estimation algorithms such as MUSIC(MUltiple SIgnal Classification) [2], CBF(conventional beamforming) [3], and capon beamforming [4] require large amounts of ...

On Angle of Arrival (AoA) K̈hler Manifolds Feedback Method for FDD mmWave V2X Systems

2019 IEEE 90th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2019-Fall), 2019
The work of cooperative perception realized by mmWave Vehicle to everything (V2X) [3] has pointed out that vehicles require much network bandwidth to exchange sensor information for safe automated driving; e.g., they require higher than 1Gbps V2V bandwidth to ensure safe velocity of 70 km/h.

New Approach for Simultaneously Estimating Output SNR and Angle of Arrival (AOA) with New Array Configurations

2019 12th International Conference on Developments in eSystems Engineering (DeSE), 2019
In order to define the location of any electromagnetic transmitting source, two or three directions of arrival (ƒAE, .) estimators are needed to provide two or three different directions for coordination. In the last two decades most of research works are focused on Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC), and Estimation of Signal Parameters using ...

New measurement results for the localization of UHF RFID transponders using an Angle of Arrival (AoA) approach

2011 IEEE International Conference on RFID, 2011
In this paper we present new measurement results for an Angle of Arrival (AoA) approach to localize RFID tags at 868 MHz. Self-designed three element antenna arrays, off-the-shelf IDS R901G RFID reader ICs, and UPM Raflatec DogBone RFID tags are used to generate and detect ISO 18000–6C compliant signals.

A selective model to suppress NLOS signals in angle-of-arrival (AOA) location estimation

Ninth IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (Cat. No.98TH8361), 2002
Angle-of-arrival (AOA) is a key technique in wireless location estimation. The study of AOA becomes very important with the FCC ruling regarding the wireless Enhanced 911 (E911) emergency calling systems. This paper studies the performance of AOA in a cellular environment.
