Angular distortions at tetracoordinate carbon: planoid distortions in small spiroalkanes

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 1992
Abstract The topology of the central C(C) 4 fragments in spiro [ x.y ]alkanes with P x + y ⩽8 and in tricyclic and tetracyclic compounds which contain three-, four- and five-membered rings is analysed in terms of symmetry deformation coordinates.

Angular Distortion in the Orthopantomogram

British Journal of Orthodontics, 1984
The orthopantomogram is in popular use in orthodontic diagnosis and monitoring treatment progress. Being a laminographic-type radiograph, its image suffers from a variable degree of linear distortion and this has limited its use as a research tool.

Evaluation for Angular Distortion of Welding Plate

2021
Welding is essential in our life. It is crucial to nurture welding skills in Japan nowadays. The experts have to evaluate the many beginners' welding. Since the experts' burden is critical, a computational assistant for evaluating beginners' welding is required. This paper describes a simple evaluation system of welding plates by beginners. The authors

The Angular Distortion of Crankshafts

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1928

REFERENCES are given to many articles and books on crankshaft vibration, written in both English and German. As published experimental data on deflections are lacking, the authors obtained an engine with four crankshafts, having crank-arms with different cross-sections, and measured the ...

Analysis of angular distortion in line-heating

International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2007
A simplified analytical model for prediction of deformations of metal plates due to line-heating process is presented. In the present work, a formula for plate deformation produced by line-heating in terms of process parameters such as heat input and plate dimensions is developed analytically using an eigenstrain concept.

Expanding Angles? Systematic Distortions of Space Involving Angular Figures

Perception, 1977
Using simple, single angular figures, including figures containing only one line, we have shown systematic misestimations of distance defined by these figures. These misestimations are not related to the absolute distance per se, but are related both to the size of the angle defining the distance, and to the part of the angle defining it.

Angular Distortion Removal of THz Anisotropic Dichroism Microscope

2019 44th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz), 2019
We have developed a stationary sample THz anisotropic dichroism microscope as a powerful tool for material characterization. The key innovation is the use of an iso-response curve defined by the terahertz and detection light polarizations. Here we show that following a continuous iso-response curve introduces angular distortion in the spectrum, and ...
